Mid 20th Century Dana / Dfa Stainless Steel Pitcher With Rattan Handle

$220.00

This exceptional Vintage Stainless Steel Pitcher by Dana / DFA (Dansk Forsølvnings Anstalt) is a superb piece of Danish design history, known for its extreme durability and elegant, timeless aesthetic.

Design & Provenance: While the company Dana/DFA was a main supplier to hotels and ferry lines (renowned for its extreme durability), this particular pitcher design is part of the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met), where it is dated to 1961. The pitcher itself features beautiful, flowing lines that suggest an Art Deco influence from the 1930s, likely revisited in the post-war era.

This specific model is elevated by its original rattan wrapping over the handle, a sophisticated design choice popular in the late 1950s and 1960s, possibly inspired by the wrapping techniques of designer Jens Harald Quistgaard for Dansk. The base is fully marked, confirming its origin from the esteemed Danish family company DFA.

This versatile pitcher is ideal for serving water, ice, or wine and instantly adds an element of Scandinavian Modern elegance to any bar cart, dining table, or collection of functional art.

Condition: This piece is in near perfect condition, a remarkable testament to the quality of DFA's stainless steel. The metal is lustrous, the rattan wrapping is intact, and the pitcher is ready for immediate use or display.
