Circa 1960s, this sculpture is unsigned and unnumbered. It is cataloged as being "Attributed to" the artist based on a comparison of style, material, and dimensions with documented works by Jean Houben.
Bronze with a brown and gold patina, is composed of three key shapes as well as negaive space, and mounted on a grey marble base. It appears to be geometric abstraction with both rounded forms and some hard angular edges. The forms emphasize the material's structural nature and the interplay of positive and negative space. This geometric approach is characteristic of much modernist sculpture from the mid-20th century.
The surface is moderately textured (not a smooth finish) showcasing the artist's direct manipularion of the metal.
The bronze component roughly measures 6" x 5" x 5" and the base measures 4" x 4" x 4"
