The Story of Arthur Salm:
Arthur Salm (1904–1988) was a visionary German Jewish manufacturer who fled his homeland for Chicago, USA, due to the rise of Nazism. There, he established a distinctive enterprise dedicated to producing modern, industrially manufactured tableware. Over the years, Salm collaborated with a large number of international designers, achieving worldwide success and competing with major brands like Stelton, Dansk Designs, and Georg Jensen. Beyond his entrepreneurial work, Salm was also a dedicated philatelist, building an extensive collection of German stamps and postal history. His legacy is one of bringing exceptional design and quality to everyday objects.
Condition: This Arthur Salm gravy boat is in good vintage condition. It displays minor nicks and light scratches from gentle use consistent with its age, as highlighted in the accompanying photos. These subtle marks do not detract from its overall aesthetic appeal or functionality.
